A while ago I learnt about Ruka Hair, a wonderful company that specializes in afro textured hair extensions. As much as I want to campaign for people from every background with every type of hair to be comfortable with the hair they have, I also agree that every now and then it’s nice to be able to switch it up and add hair extensions for a different look and feel. The unique selling point of Ruka Hair is that the hair is curated to multiple types of Afro hair textures, from the loosest curls to the tightest coils and also mimics Afro hair that has been straightened, with the vision to celebrate the beauty of black hair. Ruka hair is also a principled company with all hair being sourced ethically from their South East Asian partners and gives the women who grow and sell their hair a fair price as well as the women who buy the extensions a fair price and good quality. I’ve had the pleasure of trying their think Kink ponytail and I think it’s absolutely fantastic. It gives me so much volume and length which matches my hair texture perfectly.

They have so many other styling options such as clip ins, full lace wigs and headband wigs all for a reasonable price, especially created to look like Afro hair. I really appreciate this company’s work and you can view the latest collections on their website.
